Maupiti
It’s Maupiti time! …we finally found paradise…Maupiti is the smallest island of the Society Group (around 2km diameter) and the most remote island from Tahiti. Surrounded by a beautiful lagoon, it is love at first sight when we landed two days ago. There are virtually no cars, only bicycles and one tourist accommodation on the island. Hence, we were pretty much the only tourists with our bungalow again right at the beach and amazing sunsets. Today on Sunday early morning we hiked up Mount Teerefaatiu with incredible views over the island..also while snorkeling yesterday morning, Florian was almost attacked by a Giant Moray. That definitely woke him up. He (the moray) looked pretty scary and was huge with at least 15cm in diameter. Those Morays are quite common here in the South Pacific, reaching up to 3m in length..
