Road trip to Palm Springs
We continued our little road trip further east with a first coffee stop in a little old mining town called Julian- famous for its apple pies- and yes, actually the crumble apple pie was delicious!! Yummy! In the evening we then finally arrived in Palm Springs- THE Hollywood movie-star destination in the California Desert back in the 60s. What is left is still beautiful mid-century modern architecture and lots of palm trees!
Today we went to the Joshua Tree National Park which is situated right between the Mojave and Colorado Desert for a nice hike. The temperatures luckily were pleasant and not desert-like at all. The landscape was really amazing like on the moon with fascinating hugh granitic rockpiles scattered around… and the typical Joshua Tree can be found everywhere!
